The Fund was established in 1976 as a foundation created to provide scholarships to eligible graduating seniors of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.
As a local chapter of Scholarship America and New England Dollars for Scholars , the L-S Scholarship Fund provides an application process for students to use in applying for its own and other local scholarships available in Lincoln and Sudbury.
Scholarships are funded either by the Scholarship Fund endowment or by families and organizations and administered by the Fund. The amounts generally range from $500-$12,000 and more than half are funded over four years.
The Selection Committee determines scholarship recipients based on the following criteria: 40% academics; 40% financial need; and 20% service / work / athletics.
Certain awards funded by donors may have specific qualification criteria, such as a focus on education, health sciences, or music.
To be eligible, the student must be a graduating senior from LSRHS planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or an approved post-secondary vocational or professional development program. Also, a 2.0 cumulative grade point average is a requirement.
Atkinson Scholarship recipients are not eligible for any Lincoln-Sudbury Scholarship Fund awards.
